This capital was weathered distorted and broken over the course of it's over 100 year life and no longer able to hold up the weight of the house. The builder was not able to locate the same size capital and called to have us remodel it and produce six casting.

The images above are of an old molded and crumbling plaster panel that weighed several hundred pounds. Some of the hundred year old panels survived, so in order to make everything look the same we made a mold on an existing panel still attached to the ceiling and re-work the carvings. The new construction required a lighter panel so we cast them out a spray in plastic with a modified plastic foaming agent. The new larger panels came in weighing approx 65 lbs with their wood frames.
